To add more color to our last post. The wife and I have decided to pass the torch to another generation. The wife has fell in love with floral arrangements and started Little Bird Bloom off the square of Lewisburg. We purchased the drive in as a family business as an old run down building that was still on 35mm. We remodeled the inside, bathrooms, upgraded the projector room with all digital equipment. Now our family has shifted dramatically as you could imagine and our passions have changed. We originally set out to have a small family business and to create a couple jobs for the community, and ended up positively impacting thousands. We are truly humbled at this moment of reflection. To give you all a glimpse of this journey:In the past 14 years we've had a true blast with all the "extras" we did. Originally we had a Christmas light show - 100k lights, synchronized to music. We had Custom lifesized Disney scenes, 13 separate themed scenes. After a few years of chasing down rodent bitten wires and submerged bulbs, we converted the Christmas display into Halloween themed. With the original 1/2 mile long road winding behind the Drivein through the woods, we created a unique Scary Movie + Haunted Woods experience. That first weekend we played the new IT, and the traffic backed up over a mile (almost to McDonalds) on the highway (Sorry TDOT, LPD, MCSD)It's also been a fun spot for Music events as well. Joe Diffie's Pickup Man www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I51JXpcLwkBlake Shelton reshot Footloose here www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mzpuUzLKx4Kid Rock recorded American Rock n Roll www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD8K3pNhf-UShania Twain and Orville Peck did Legends Never Diewww.youtube.com/watch?v=PV3dDRNmj_UAnd about 10 other artists have shot videos here. We've hosted about a dozen concerts from local bands like Rubiks Groove to bigger names like Casting Crowns.During COVID we were able to help our local community with Church services, Funerals, and Celebration of life. We've also able to host many community events thanks to the generosity of other local members such as Talos Engineering, Chuck Coble/Kindred Pizza, The Health Department, and many others.Car shows sponsored by East Commerce Automotive, 413 Signs, and about 10 other businesses.I can't begin to count the private parties and events we've done. Once a guy had his buddies in villain costumes "kidnap" his girlfriend from Columbia in the middle of the night. They tied her up in a chair in front of the screen with "Bane" taunting her. The Batman sign shined on the screen and "Batman" swooped in to save her which turned into one of the most epic wedding proposals ever. It has been such a great chapter in our lives. Sincerely, Thank you all! ... See MoreSee Less
